Mission statement/ business objectives of the function:


The Key Account Manager is responsible for successful engagement with FSC’s key accounts and will ensure strengthened relationships and productive corporate partnerships in successful delivery of the strategic goals of the unit of supply and service delivery.


Main roles and responsibilities:


The Key Account Manager will be responsible to implement and coordinate specific tasks relating to the following complexes of work:

  • FSC Key Account Management Program to maximize the opportunities for successful engagement with FSC’s business partners.
  • Activities to support the strategic development of FSC certified forest material supply, including specific target groups.
  • Implementation of Corporate partnerships with appropriate business partners.
  • Coordination with the FSC network Partners and FSC Regional Directors to ensure the building of a global Key Account Management Program in designated regions / countries.
  • Monitoring of market development and how they contribute to FSC’s strategic development.
  • Representation of FSC at events relative for effective engagement with Key Accounts.
  • Close co-operation with external service providers, consultants and FSC certificate holders.


Execution of discretionary power:

The position does not include any signing authority.



Functional attribution to organizational unit:


The Key Account Manager reports to the Key Account Program Manager.

Cooperation with other operational units:


  • Business units of
    • FSC International Center,
    • FSC Global Development,
    • FSC AC
  • FSC Regional Offices
  • FSC Network Partners (e.g. National Offices, National Representatives, National Focal Points)


Qualification, experiences and skills:

The successful candidate demonstrates the following key competencies and qualities:

  • Education: Successfully completed university degree in a relevant field.
  • Working Experience:
    • More than 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in this field as well as proven, professional abilities and technical skills in managing complex multi-cultural operations and teams
    • Key Account and Project Management Skills – Experience in working with global clients and in international project teams
  • Knowledge of international markets and market trends would be an advantage.
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written).
    • Spanish is a plus.
  • Others:
    • Ability to work well as a member of a multi-cultural, inter-disciplinary, multi-lingual, global team.
    • Commitment to FSC’s mission and values.
    • Demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity to the diversity of values, views and approaches to issues relevant to the FSC program by stakeholders around the world.
    • Familiarity at the general level with the scope of FSC’s programs of standard setting, accreditation, trademark management and political engagement.
    • Ability to represent FSC through his/her work with exemplary personal and professional authority and conduct.


Terms and conditions:

  • Location: Bonn, Germany.
  • Level: Mid level
  • Working hours: 40 working hours per week.
  • Temporary contract: 2 years – extension possible.
  • Starting date: As soon as possible.
