Description

This project currently has opportunities for science graduates with a keen interest in conservation to gain valuable experience working on a Kestrel recovery project starting August 2012 for a minimum of seven months.
 
The work will involve species management including nest box management, population monitoring, nest accessing, trapping, handling and ringing of Mauritius Kestrels as well as report writing and data collection.

A motorbike driving licence or provisional licence at the least is required and off road biking experience is a definite plus. Skills required include navigating using GPS, climbing and abseiling, bird handling and ringing. Trapping skills are optional but highly desirable.

The project provides free accommodation, work permits and field transport.
