Description

Mandatory biodiversity net gain presents a significant opportunity for growth in Kent to deliver a long-term benefit to biodiversity and make a contribution to efforts to recover nature.

Kent County Council is seeking an exceptional individual for this newly created post, with the knowledge and ambition to shape policy and drive its delivery in Kent, to bring about a meaningful gain within the county.  The post holder will work with Kent’s upper and lower tier planning authorities in their preparation for biodiversity net gain, developing a consistent and joined up approach within the county that meets the requirements of the Environment Act, whilst addressing the local challenges to its implementation.  The post will also be instrumental in securing offsite delivery options and supporting ambitions for net gain delivery above the mandatory requirements.  The post presents an exciting opportunity to really shape and influence local delivery of this new approach within planning.

Please use the reasons for applying section within the job application to demonstrate your skills and experience relevant to the person specification for the post; applications will be assessed against this.

Interviews will either be 20th September or 29th September
