Description

The Kane‘ohe Field Technician (Field Tech) participates in field operations, maintenance, and management of the Kane‘ohe Bay Reef Restoration Project.  This may include one or more of the following:

  • Removing aquatic invasive species.
  • Transplanting native sea urchins.
  • Conducting coral reef and native and non-native species monitoring.
  • Disposing of invasive algae after it is cleared from the reef.
  • Maintaining vessels, tools, and equipment as required for aquatic invasive algae removal.
  • Maintaining proper records of maintenance and other daily activities.
  • Conducting field trips and communicating effectively about the project with visitors.
  • Organizing volunteer workdays and communicating effectively about the project with volunteers.
  • Giving presentations to groups about the project.
  • Working and communicating effectively with TNC staff at all levels, community members, government agencies, and other partners.

Three Field Tech positions are currently open and funded for three years.
