Job Description:
The Junior Wildlife Biologist will conduct nesting bird surveys for various projects, and prepare daily logs that are legible and well-written. This position will include numerous trips to project sites to conduct wildlife surveys and will require frequent travel away from home. These projects will mostly be located in Northern California, but may include Southern California, Nevada, and Oregon.

Qualifications

 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in wildlife biology or closely related field.
  • Must have excellent knowledge of California fauna, and have at least 1 year of field experience conducting surveys or research on California species.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Master's Degree in wildlife biology or closely related field.
  • We are very interested in candidates with solid avian experience, but will consider experience in other technical specialty areas such as invertebrates, amphibians/retiles, or small mammals.
  • Experience with species located in the San Joaquin valley.
  • Experience writing biological assessments, EIS/EIR sections.
Professional Skills:
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
