Junior Research Associate

Job Type:

Paper research; collation of information; assistance with production of reports and publications; journal scanning; database input; maintenance of library and information retrieval systems. Works for Animal Defenders International (ADI), National Anti-Vivisection Society and the Lord Dowding Fund – covers animal experiments, alternatives and ADI broader animal/environmental issues.

Duties include:

• Journal scanning and cataloguing/filing of information.
• Paper research; maintenance of information databases and files
• Assisting with production of internal and external briefings
• Assist in research, writing and production of campaign materials.
• Library maintenance.
• Website updates – research and alternatives sections
• Administrative duties.
• General office assistance, as necessary.

Qualifications and Qualities:

• Educated to degree level, biological science (biochemistry desired)
• Some knowledge of animal experiments/alternatives issues (junior role, training will be given).
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs, especially Excel and Word; good internet skills.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.
• Excellent English and communication skills – written, oral and presentation.
• Flexible, positive approach to work; responds well to demanding environment.
• Team player, supportive of others.
• Self motivated, with total commitment to the aims and objectives of ADI.
• Vegetarian preferred.
