Description
Under direct supervision of the Senior Policy Manager and in collaboration with other staff of the IUCN European Regional Office, the Junior Policy-Communications Officer will support the implementation and the communication of the policy work of the Office. This will include providing support to tasks within the project portfolio, as well as administrative support. The proportion devoted to each of this task could change depending on the real office and project needs during the time period of this contract. Administrative support includes assistance with project development, contract administration, and event planning and organisation. Specifically, the position will entail:

• Assist in the implementation of the ENVISION project, focused on the concept of inclusive conservation for the management of protected areas. This will include: support in the preparation of case examples, fact sheets, policy briefings and webinars; support with the tasks related with the PANORAMA Solutions website; support with the organization of workshops, a business breakfast and with the preparation for inter-site knowledge alliance meetings; support in the preparation of presentations and communications in events; and support in the preparation of the final ENVISION festival.
• Support the organization of meetings and events;
• Support the development of new project proposals;
• Provide a range of administrative support functions on a day-to-day basis transversal to several projects (e.g. processing of invoices, project assessments, monitoring, reporting, etc);
• Support in the preparation of web-stories, newsletters -such as the EUpdate-, posts for social media, press releases, as well as to keep contacts with relevant media, as well as in keeping the web-site policy section updated;
• Support in the preparations of the European Policy work towards the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Marseille in 2020;
• Will be required to provide support on a range of tasks as delegated by his/her Line Manager.

The above job description contains the main duties and responsibilities for this position. However, in an organisation such as IUCN, staff members are expected to show flexibility in their approach to work and be willing to undertake other tasks that are reasonably allocated to them but which are not part of their regular job description.
