Junior Environmental Consultant

The Role

You will support senior staff in the design and consultancy of ecological habitat, wetland, and river improvement projects on a diverse scale of schemes for FiveRivers. The Individual will be starting their career in their chosen field and want to develop their technical knowledge and an understanding of ecological habitat, wetland, and river improvement projects.

 

Main Duties

  • Using drawing packages to create outlines detailed designs, specifically Arc GIS and Auto CAD and Adobe Suite 
  • Support the Senior team in preparing and coordinating information to support design works including statutory permissions
  • Support in the delivery of a program of design works to develop outlined detailed design option
  • Site works to assist in undertaking topographic surveys and geomorphology walkovers and design site visits  

 

Experience and knowledge required 

  • 1-3 years of experience in a relevant industry delivering ecological habitat, wetland and river design 
  • Experience of designing solutions in the water environment (or similar industry) 
  • Experience of practical habitat enhancement (e.g. through volunteering) 

 

Qualifications required 

  • Entry level – UKGOV level of Qualifications 
  • Minimum BSc in a relevant subject in an environmental discipline 
  • Student/ Graduate member of an appropriate body (CIWEM/CENG) 
  • Driving License  

 

Salary & Benefits 

  • £22,500 per annum

  • Based out of Head office in Thruxton or Home based
