The Strategy Cluster of Ecofys works on analysis and strategic advice in four main areas: technology and innovation; energy and climate policy evaluation and design; energy market developments and climate change. The international cluster has a multidisciplinary staff carrying out projects for multiple clients including local, regional and (inter)national governments, the European Commission, multilateral organizations (UNFCCC, IEA) as well as corporate clients and NGOs. The Junior Consultant ‘Quantitative Climate Policy Analysis’ will be responsible for extending and programming of computer tools available at Ecofys to advise our clients on international climate policy. This includes data collecting, importing and processing, the programming of algorithms, as well as analyzing and documenting of results. The computer tools contain emissions of countries and sectors, greenhouse gas emission limits under different equity principles, emission mitigation potential and associated costs. In addition, you will support the group on international climate policy in acquiring, managing and completing projects, writing research reports and providing ad-hoc advice. Your profile If you are enthusiastic about the job described above and you meet the following criteria, then we would be happy to meet you! • Master degree in natural science, environmental sciences or economics • A thorough background in computer programming (databases, VBA) • Basic knowledge and strong interest in international climate policy • Strong analytical skills • Team player with independent working style • Capable to communicate clearly, both verbally and written, about complex issues • Commercial attitude and keen on delivering results for clients • Excellent command of English; command of German is an asset
