Description: Under the direction of the Regional Project Manager & Master Electrician, the Journeyman Electrician is the on-site electrician. The Journeyman duties are to organize, orchestrate and perform the electrical work and to manage his apprentice to complete the project on time. The Journeyman Electrician will oversee groSolar installation employees within the scope of the trade & may supervise the overall project scope. The Journeyman Electrician will maintain and enforce safe jobsite work practices to ensure safety of our employees.

Duties: 1. Oversee the electrical installation component of residential and commercial PV systems, and ensure that projects are in compliance with national, state, and local codes.

2. Responsible for interpreting PV line drawings, product literature, and reference NEC.

3. Demonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards, company safety programs, and policies relative to the installation of these systems, and enforce safety standards with all personnel under your supervision.

4. Successfully plan, permit, schedule, and execute the installation of the projects and maintain the proper company documents for each project.

5. Represents groSolar as a field contact for the customer, interacts with the customer with integrity, and with a professional appearance and attitude.

6. Participate in a structured training process to advance crew members within the company.

7. May typically supervise 2 to 4 PV Installers.
Possibly supervise larger crews of Installers on a commercial project. Possibly supervise 1 to 2 Subcontractors working on site

Qualifications: TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of Residential and Commercial building systems
Knowledge of Residential and Commercial roofing systems
Basic Blueprint/Schematic Reading
Basic Computer Skills
Knowledge of OSHA Construction Safety Requirements
Working knowledge of the PV components that grosolar supplies

REQUIRED/DESIRED SKILLS:
Supervisory Skills
Ability to trouble shoot PV systems
Customer Service/Communication Skills
Scheduling/Planning Skills
Recordkeeping and Reporting Skills

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma
Safety Training (OSHA 10 Hour Course recommended)

SPECIAL SKILLS:
Math and trigonometry skills
Building trades, understanding the construction process
Communication skills

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
MA Journeyman Tradesman License
In state construction supervisors license where appropriate
NABCEP certification desired
Current MA Drivers License
