Overview
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a groundbreaking international organisation dedicated to safeguarding the world’s seafood supply by awarding a blue ecolabel to seafood from sustainable fisheries.
The Japan Senior Communications Manager will lead the communications functions of the MSC in Japan. The post holder will be responsible for implementing and developing the communications strategy and fulfilling the MSC’s mission to effectively reach key stakeholders and communicate the environmental benefits and market incentives that the MSC provides, through targeted information in the region.
Required skills
- Excellent communicator, with first-rate skills in writing, copywriting for a range of stakeholders including media, presentation and networking.
- Ability to think quickly and creatively under pressure.
- Ability to combine a strategic but ‘hands-on’ approach.
- Ability to prioritise a heavy workload.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Excellent organisational and computer skills, and an ability to develop systems which minimise administration.
- Ability to analyse information and report concisely.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English.
