The European Climate Foundation (ECF) aims to promote climate and energy policies that greatly reduce Europe’s greenhouse gas emissions and help Europe play an even stronger international leadership role in mitigating climate change.

We are an NGO spread across 3 European cities, with a total of 5 IT staff and consultants. One IT positions will become available in September, and we seek a replacement to provide tech support to our Netherlands office colleagues and affiliate organisations.

Our The Hague office is currently looking for a part-time IT Helper to provide on-site tech support. The position should provide 8-12 flexible hours over 2-3 days per week. It would be perfect for a student, part-time or freelance worker.

On-site support should cover the following:

  • Desktops: Mac OSX (±15 machines) and Windows XP/Vista (±2 machines)
  • Creative (Adobe), office (MS) and communications (Skype, etc) software installation, configuration and tips
  • Web-based applications (eg, Salesforce and grant tracking tools)
  • Basic HTML and web publishing platforms
  • Mobiles (Blackberry & iPhone) and desktop phones
  • Video conferencing machines
  • Network printers
  • Wifi routers
  • Related competencies

Other IT/admin staff are responsible for purchasing, servers, backups, major repairs, phone/internet lines and additional support.

We seek candidates who:

  • Have availability to work flexible hours: regular on-site days + events or emergencies
  • Have prior experience with technical support
  • Are fearless and creative in solving IT problems
  • Are comfortable working with teams and individuals
  • Speak fluent English, with Dutch/French/German being additional assets

The position should provide 8-12 flexible hours over 2-3 days per week.

Compensation: The ECF offers compensation that is commensurate with education and experience.
