Internship with GE Campaign

Details:

The Student Intern would be responsible for:

• A preliminary investigation to document all information on transgenic crops (Rice as priority). This would involve searching research articles, submissions and presentations from conferences.
• A thorough investigation on the details of select events and compiling information about plant/seed source/ Gene construct info (cloning vectors)/ Identify Transformation, plant regeneration, and other techniques/ DNA amplification techniques used.
• On a later stage, the responsibility would involve, summarising the list of patents that have been identified by previous reports of Greenpeace and other select soures, to see their applicability in India.
• To assist the process to verify the validity and claims of such patents in India.
• Contribute to the report that will be produced in the end of the research.

Tenure: 6- 8 weeks- and extension if required on mutual consent.

Stipend: Rs. 10,000 per month

Location: The intern may have to be based in our office in Bangalore, preferably to facilitate communication with the rest of the team as well as to avail office facilities.

Alternatively, cases where if the applicant can take care of the office requirements and is willing to work from home may also be considered.
