With the generous support of the Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions (PICS), Pembina is pleased to be offering a 12 week internship available to fulltime students at any of the PICS universities (SFU, UBC, UVIC, UNBC). Through this internship you’ll have the opportunity to work directly on projects that are making a difference to climate policy in B.C. We are looking for someone who is passionate about climate change and understands the urgency we face in dealing with this global issue. If you are someone who is equally comfortable digging into research on energy policy, facilitating a workshop or writing a policy brief for government, then read on. To view the complete job description click here. Roles and Responsibilities The intern will be responsible for supporting ongoing work on two key projects: 1. Advancing Net Zero Buildings:the intern will be working with a variety of stakeholders (builders, developers, city planners, utilites, provincial government) to support our work in articulating the policy pathway for BC to reach net zero energy building standards. Specific work will include:
Minimizing the impacts of shale gas development: the intern will be working be engaging with the provincial government, First Nations, local communiities, industry, academia and environmental groups to better understand technology and policy options to reduce the impact of shale gas development associated with LNG development.Specific work will include:
Internship timing The internship will be full time (40 hours/week) for 12 weeks from May to August. However, we are also interested in candidates who would be able to start sooner.
