Description

The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) has an internship opportunity in its San Francisco, CA or Washington, DC office to work in our passenger vehicle program for the fall semester. The intern will work to help the program staff establish detailed databases of passenger vehicles for the Brazilian market.

Our team is working on policies to improve vehicle fuel efficiency and reduce global warming impact from the light-duty vehicle sector. This requires in-depth analysis on current fleet data. However, a complete dataset with all information required for our analysis is not readily available, though individual data series can be obtained from various sources.

Under the direction of program staff, the intern will collect and compile data series from different sources, organize and input data into an Excel spreadsheet. In particular, this includes merging existing data on vehicles sales and fuel economy with data on criteria pollutant emissions. When necessary, the intern will make direct contact with sources or relevant policy agencies.

Following establishing new databases for Europe the intern will be asked to prepare simple analysis of the datasets and to compare them with results from databases for other countries.

The intern may also be asked to contribute to other activities of the passenger vehicles program, related to US, India, China, or Mexico, depending upon the background and interest of the intern.
