Description |
Greenpeace has been campaigning against environmental degradation since 1971 when a small boat of volunteers and journalists sailed into Amchitka, an area north of Alaska where the US Government was conducting underground nuclear tests. This tradition of "bearing witness" in a non-violent manner continues today. Greenpeace has a presence in 40 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa and the Pacific.
In order to maintain our independence Greenpeace does not accept donations from government or business. This means we are entirely funded by the generous donations of our individual supporters. Moreover our power as an organization comes from the fact that when we advocate for the well being of the environment we do so with the support of our supporters; decision makers are compelled to hear what we have to say. We have an important role in educating our supporters about the urgent issues we work on, offering them solutions and inspiring them to act with us. Position overviewYou will work on the internal fundraiser’s communication platform (The Bar) to provide the offices around the globe with information and the opportunity to exchange their experiences. The Bar visionThe fundraising team goal is to deliver experiences of Greenpeace and our campaigns that truly engage our supporters. The Bar looks to develop a sense of belonging and community. Each supporter feels like a member of Greenpeace team and that their individual support counts. On the Bar, each Fundraiser can share the best practices and build a real Fundraising skills share references area. Responsibilities
