A student internship is available in the National Renewable Energy Laboratory's (NREL) Strategic Energy Analysis Center in Golden, Colorado. NREL is the nation's primary laboratory for research, development and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. 

We have an immediate opening for a one-year part-time student internship in our Golden, Colorado office. The position would be part-time (20 - 30 hours per week) during the school year and/or full time during the summer.
The intern will join a team of researchers who perform environmental sustainability assessments of energy technologies. The specific project involves estimating greenhouse gas emissions for unconventional natural gas production based on air pollutant emission inventory data from the oil and gas sector. The core skills required are spreadsheet manipulation and calculation based on air pollution engineering fundamentals.
Must be enrolled as a full-time student.

Graduate students enrolled in a minimum of nine credit hours.

Undergraduate students enrolled in a minimum of twelve credit hours.

Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident.
Knowledge from core environmental engineering courses or industrial/energy/mechanical/chemical engineering at the advanced undergraduate level. Excellent skills in Excel (or equivalent) software.
Coursework or research focus on air quality engineering, or less preferably, first-level undergraduate or graduate environmental engineering or atmospheric science classes.
