  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  The Conservation Intern participates in preserve and ranch operations, maintenance and management. This may include one or more of the following functions: maintains preserve areas frequented by the visiting public; removes exotic species and/or species monitoring; facility management; research assistance; maintains tools and equipment; opens and closes preserve to the visiting public; intern will be required to live in TNC provided housing at one of the TNC ranches or preserves to be available for sometimes unscheduled assistance.
  BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  Must be enrolled for academic credit at an accredited college or university; experience identifying plants to the species level; experience performing physical work and hiking in rugged terrain.
  ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
  Must be working towards a degree in a natural resource science field. Field experience preferred. Knowledge of natural systems and natural systems management techniques. Ability to recognize pland and animal species as required to complete preserve management activities. Ability to operate various types of equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Time will be split mainly between the Tensleep Preserve and Heart Mountain Ranch, with possible trips with other staff to monitor other properties. Personal transportation recommended.
