ABOUT THE TRANSPORTATION & CLIMATE POLICY ANALYST

This position entails researching, analyzing and documenting international transportation GHG reduction strategies and assessing options for including transportation policies within the international climate policy framework, such as through Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) and Low Carbon Development Strategies (LCDS).  Expansion will likely come in the form of technical and policy analysis on transportation and climate change policies for specific developing countries The role will have a diverse set of tasks including: GHG and cost analysis of transportation policies and measures – on all three legs of the stool; research on worldwide climate and transportation strategies and policies; documentation of best practices; and assessment of data improvement needs. This position affords tremendous opportunity to participate in the development of cutting edge climate change policy work.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Transportation Planning, Public Policy, Economics or a related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in transportation, energy or environmental policy. International experience is a significant plus.
• Knowledge of transportation GHG reduction policies and measures including vehicle efficiency, low carbon fuels and travel demand reduction is required.
• Superb quantitative skills and research skills.
• The ability to understand and articulate sophisticated technical, policy and economic analysis.
• Excellent writing skills.
