This is a high profile position within a leading blue-chip organisation. The role is focussed on delivering advice & knowledge to the International parts of the business about the latest low carbon compliance and renewable technology with the goal of motivating and influencing them to reduce their impact and to become a low carbon operation.
Key Accountabilities
• Exhibit passion and energetic belief in reducing  the environmental impact balanced with good business sense and financial awareness
• Formulate the components of a low carbon business and the solutions that will lead the business there
• Be enthusiastic and able to motivate countries to deliver a low carbon business
• Work with country teams to devise practical, pragmatic solutions and follow-up on delivery
• Assist countries in developing their roadmaps and renewable strategy to achieve 2020 carbon targets
• Manage coordination and ongoing development of quarterly and end of year carbon footprint in conjunction with the Climate Change team
• Ensure each country has a robust plan incorporating store and off site initiatives
• Standardize roadmap reporting formats aligning International with UK
• Constantly look for improvement and investigate new solutions for suitability and implementation
• Formulate action plans working with country teams and external consultants
• Work with countries to understand and utilise Government subsidies available for renewable as they become available
• Work with colleagues to prioritise initiatives including renewable, ensuring projects are reviewed after implementation
• Work with Corporate Purchasing to leverage scale in buying across Group
• Review country business cases on renewable solutions
• Define Kips for consultants and suppliers and identify strategic partners
• Ensure updates of best practice and cross country knowledge sharing to Intra team space
• Ensure data collected on renewable consumption is correctly captured in the Carbon Footprint Tool.
• Assess differences between countries e.g. regulatory, climate, national targets and advise of impacts to roadmaps
Problem Solving:
• Diagnose and provide solutions for discipline related technical issues
• Balancing options to develop optimal commercial strategies with countries
• Identifying operating model structure and processes needed to deliver the program as countries develop
• Identifying trends, regulatory and other impacts that will affect strategy and refining plans with countries to respond.
Applicants will be considered from either a corporate or consultancy background but individuals must possess applied and detailed knowledge across all types of renewable technology and understand their advantages and disadvantages, commercial or otherwise, gained from real life projects so that the most up to date and considered knowledge can be given to Country Managers.
It is essential that you have high level and proven communication skills and have the ability to "bring people on board" ideally within a multi cultural setting.
