The study focuses on: (i) vulnerability of Kazakhstani section of Altai Sayan ecoregion to climate change and the effectiveness of the current protected area network in safeguarding the biodiversity under different climate change scenarios; (ii) the role of protected areas in Altay Sayan in climate change mitigation – carbon sinks; (iii) designing the most cost-effective nature based adaptation measures to be implemented in the Altai Sayan.
Duties and Responsibilities
The consultant or the organization will report to the Project Manager. The consultant is responsible for reliability and correctness of the submitted data. In case of making any changes in the report, they will be made at the Consultant’s expense
Competencies
The selected consultant, institution or consortium must demonstrate capabilities and experience to conduct an assessment of climate change in relation to protected areas and recommend possible responses and the evaluation of factors that make up such interventions.
The successful consultant(s) must also have proven ability to finish and present work with a high degree of accuracy.
The consultant(s) or team leader must haveat least a Masters Degreeor equivalent specialist work experience in the field of climate change.
Required Skills and Experience
The applicants should produce definite proofs of their ability, qualification and experience, related only to climate change scenario, assessment of impacts and vulnerability.
They should also produce the proposal, describing how they suppose to implement the project, the process of implementation, the due dates and requested amount for the project implementation.
