Philadelphia

The Community Outreach Intern is responsible for assisting the Philadelphia Account Manager and Community Affairs Mangers with community outreach and education initiatives for Recyclebank in the City of Philadelphia. The intern is responsible for helping with the community outreach strategy and execution that has measurable goals related to resident engagement and recycling rates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• To promote the Philadelphia Recycling Rewards Program and Recyclebank at events and community meetings
• Research data on a variety of stakeholders, such as community, environmental and religious organizations, that would be helpful in Recyclebank's efforts to promote recycling and trash reduction in Philadelphia
• Provide process improvement feedback to Recyclebank on members' experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Have a good understanding of the neighborhoods in Philadelphia
• Strong internet research skills
• Passionate about community outreach and have an active interest in recycling
• Solid communication skills
• Reliable, independent worker
• Available to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend hours
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Some design experience
