Intern

Carbon Market Solutions Ltd (CMS) is seeking an intern to assist with a range of company operations. CMS undertakes carbon related activities, such as brokerage and trading of carbon credits both domestically and internationally, as well as a range of advisory services, such as carbon assessments, carbon project feasibilities, and renewable energy developments.

CMS is now based in Hamilton, having moved from central Auckland to Hamilton in 2013.

The prospective intern would need to "study" the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme (NZ-ETS) as well as other schemes currently being developed or implemented globally, in order to gain a better understanding of how such mechanisms are working, as well as the current and future situation on the international climate treaty, the negotiations, and what might emerge in the future, both globally, as well as in New Zealand. The intern would be expected to assist and support CMS staff in their work, as above, as well as help produce media outputs, such as newsletters, commentaries, and assisting with the website.
