The International Policy Department is seeking a part-time, volunteer intern to work with CI’s work in Freshwater Climate Change Adaptation, with particular emphasis on CI's engagement as the Co-Chair of the Alliance for Global Water Adaptation (AGWA).  AGWA is a group of regional and global development banks, aid agencies and governments, and NGOs focused on how to manage water resources in way that is sustainable, even as climate change alters the global hydrological cycle.

AGWA’s members are in the process of developing a dynamic online tool that can be used by planners and water managers to inform and support their decision making on water projects. The AGWA intern will provide research support to advance this process as well as general program support for the network.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support research needs for the AGWA Governance work stream.
  • Provide support for AGWA program operations, including logistics for in person and virtual meetings.
  • Compile information for the bi-monthly AGWA update and upload changes to the AGWA website.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Must be a graduate (or near graduate) interested in freshwater conservation or a related field of study.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work with a team and on their own.
  • Must have experience doing computer-based research.
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely.

Work Location

  • Position will be based at CI Headquarters in Arlington, VA, but location is negotiable for candidates who do not reside in the DC Metro Area.
  • The atmosphere is casual, relaxed, and flexible.

Preferred

Familiarity with basic html and website management .
