Description

Endangered Species International (ESI) is looking for an intern for creating, improving, and reviewing the design of interpretative signs for a national park.  The applicant is encouraged to work from home and be independent with little supervision. He/she should have internet access for research and frequent e-mail correspondence with ESI.  The length of this internship is about one month with an average of 30 hrs a week for about 2-3 weeks.

The candidate must be proficient with Adobe Illustrator or/and Photoshop and have a good sence of creative design.

The candiate should use a combination of well-written text and professional graphics to convey the  message intended.

Designs for interpretive signs should take into account the following:

(1) Colors and images that attract target visitors.

(2) Key words in headings and subheadings that catch the visitor’s attention and generate interest.

(3) Type sizes and styles that ensure easy readability.

(4) Reading level that avoids exceeding the visitor’s limitations.

 

This  internship  is ideal to complete a course requirement or to put a first foot into conservation.
