The communications intern works with the communications department at Earthjustice headquarters in Oakland, Calif., to generate more media and brand awareness of Earthjustice’s work. The intern will assist various teams within the department, including web, press, marketing, and campaigns, with communication projects that involve writing, online research, event planning, blogging and other administrative duties. Through the internship, the intern will learn the various roles of the communications department at a large nonprofit environmental organization.
We prefer applicants to be currently enrolled in college, but will make exceptions for qualified candidates. They should be familiar with environmental issues and have exposure to previous communications work, though professional work experience is not required. Applicants should have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills, and be an independent, motivated worker. A working knowledge of online research and MS Office programs is required.
