Intern: Clean Air – Voluntary Position

Internship Purpose: ClientEarth is seeking an enthusiastic and committed intern to support our clean air programme. Our legal work has been successful in driving change at theLondon, national and EU level.  However, public understanding of the causes and impacts of air pollution remains poor. ClientEarth is launching a public education campaign to raise the profile of air quality as a public health issue and empower Londoners to protect themselves, their families and communities from the harmful impacts of air pollution. The campaign will help people reduce their exposure to pollution, change their behaviour to reduce their contribution to the problem, and increase their capacity to engage in constructive dialogue with decision-makers. The aim is to establish and support a network of well-informed, engaged groups who are committed to improvingLondon’s air quality. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new project, with important outcomes for quality of life inLondon.

Key responsibilities:

-          Researching upcoming policy issues on air quality

-          Preparation of stakeholder group profiles

-          Researching examples of best practice

-          Contributing to the development of high quality and accessible educational materials tailored to specific target groups.

Person Specification:

-          Relevant degree in public health or environmental sciences

-          Experience of (or a demonstrated interest in) environmental education and/or public health

-          Strong research skills

-          Excellent written and oral communication skills

-          Positive attitude and a strong commitment to working for the environment. 

About the role: We ask that interns commit to a minimum of 3 days per week for at least three months. The maximum duration for internships is six months. In instances where interns are not working full time, they should ideally commit to set days each week.

ClientEarth cover interns’ work-related expenses (travel and lunch) via a contribution of £10 for each day spent in the office.
