Intern Carbon Market Mechanism Evaluation

The position

The Strategy Cluster of Ecofys works on analysis and strategic advice in four main areas: technology and innovation; energy and climate policy evaluation and design; energy market developments and climate change. The international cluster has a multidisciplinary staff carrying out projects for multiple clients including local, regional and (inter)national governments, the European Commission, multilateral organisations (UNFCCC, IEA) as well as corporate clients and NGOs.

• Intern position for students integrated in a research project team
• Evaluation of the current status and options for GHG mitigation activities started under the Flexible Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol, the Clean Development Mechanism (see also: http://www.ecofys.com/en/project/evaluating-the-state-of-cdm-projects)
• Data gathering, data handling and basic data analysis tasks
• Telephone interviews, surveys with focus on China
• Duration 3-4 months; immediate start possible; position is vacant until suitable applicant is found

Your profile

• Student, eligible for work in the EU
• Languages: Fluent Mandarin; good knowledge and command of oral and written English
• Good understanding and interest in carbon market mechanisms (Clean Development Mechanism, CDM)
• Good communication skills
• Interest in climate change and sustainable energy
• Good MS Excel and MS Access skills
• Good analytical skills and detail oriented
