Job Description:
To support our growth we seek Interns to work in our Energy Efficiency and Climate team. The Interns will contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. Interns at ICF International have an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge, gain exposure to major projects, interact with experts and clients in the field, while building content knowledge and consulting skills.
The Energy Efficiency and Climate team is a leader in designing effective and innovative energy efficiency and climate policy strategies, conducting high quality and state of the art analysis, implementing energy efficiency and climate programs and developing building energy analysis software solutions. Our thorough understanding of our clients’ needs enables us to help government and commercial clients worldwide to manage energy consumption and carbon impacts by providing services in the areas of energy efficiency, demand response, program development and implementation, communications and marketing, labeling and voluntary programs, commercial, government, and residential lighting, water energy efficiency and conservation, climate policy analysis, training and building technology.
Responsibilities:

Analyzing residential and/or commercial building systems using energy modeling tools (e.g., DOE-2, EnergyPlus, etc.)

Interpreting sustainable design practices (e.g., LEED, ENERGY STAR)
-
Implementing energy efficiency programs
-
Performing and reviewing carbon footprints
-
Performing in-depth analysis using spreadsheets, databases and Visual Basic functions
-
Assisting with developing and implementing program strategies, preparing and presenting persuasive presentations, relationship building activities, research and analysis of energy efficiency and industry issues and corresponding with industry and government representatives.
Basic Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, Building Science or related subject

Minimum GPA of 3.0

Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of building construction methods, mechanical systems and related energy use
Professional Skills:
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and the ability to work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
