The Inside Sales/Solar Consultant is the front-line salesperson for most of Real Goods Solar's residential customers, and is responsible for qualifying leads into appointments for the sale of residential PV systems. The Consultant is an authority in qualifying aspects of solar purchase such as site characteristics, customer motivations, rate plans and utilities.

The ideal candidate must have a high degree of maturity, be a team player, be able to handle a high volume of leads, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work evenings and weekends. The Inside Salse/Solar Consultant is responsible for educating homeowners about the accessibility of solar energy and for embodying the goals and vision that define Real Goods.

    Responsibilities:
  • Educate potential customers about accessibility to solar energy and overcome common objections
  • Determine suitability of sites using proprietary tools and satellite technology
  • Exceed set targets and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Deal effectively with all inquiries and represent Real Goods Solar in a professional manner
  • Schedule consultations over the phone for our solar partners
  • Track daily activities in Salesforce.com

 

    Requirements:
  • Have at least 1 year sales experience with a proven track record. Previous call center experience is preferred.
  • Be proficient with MS Office and Salesforce.com
  • Previous knowledge of solar power is preferred
  • Proven track record of working in a metrics target driven environment
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent telephone and follow-up skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Previous experience carrying a sales target
  • Self-motivated; ability to work under pressure and in an evolving work environment
  • Great team spirit
  • Commitment of 40 hours per week
  • Illustrate an outgoing personality and demonstrate personal confidence

This is a temporary assignment of approximately two months, with the opportunity for full-time employment at the end of the assignment.
