  • Part time position (17.5 hours per week)

  • Salary in the range of £20,000-£23,000 pro rata (plus generous pension contribution).

We are looking for an experienced Information Scientist/Librarian to be based in our Cambridge office and to provide a specialist service to the BirdLife Secretariat and Partnership dealing with the management and provision of hard copy and electronic library resources relating to the conservation of birds and other biodiversity. 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of managing and developing library resources for a small or medium sized organisation with focused needs
  • Education to degree level, or equivalent experience, in a scientific or information management related subject
  • An understanding of the legal issues relating to the provision of library information
  • Well-developed self-management and organisational skills
  • Good written and spoken communications, including presentational skills, and an ability to work as a team player
  • Computer literacy and confidence in managing databases and using the internet
  • A keen interest in ornithology and/or international conservation issues
