Summary

Position will be responsible for direct sales in assigned territory to home owners. The In Home Sales Professional (IHSP) is the primary point of sales contact for SunPower to the end customer. Ultimately, the IHSP must be a proven closer, across the kitchen table, of high-end products in a highly competitive environment. 

SunPower sells premium solar electric solutions to homeowners expecting a world-class customer experience. The challenge facing the IHSP will be selling a premium product/solution in the face of low price competition and low end-customer knowledge of products/brands/etc. The IHSP must utilize a value-based sales approach, harnessing the value of SunPower products, premium installation workmanship, and a world-class customer experience. 

To succeed in this role, an IHSP must personally deliver an unparalleled customer experience, exuding professionalism while guiding the homeowner from the initial research phase of the sales process through the closing of the deal, and onward through the completion of the installation. Sales training, a proven sales process, selling tools, and consumer financing products will be made available to the IHSP. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. 

• Conduct effective sales appointments with homeowners 
• Maintain minimum closing ratio quota 
• Maintain minimum revenue quota 
• Utilize the SunPower sales process on every site visit 
• Utilize the SunPower proposal generating tool for presentation preparation 
• Present an approved proposal on every visit 
• Effectively present financing options with every proposal 
• Maintain accurate records of customer communications, proposals, and follow-ups 
• Submit all records/paperwork for every customer sales appointment 
• Meet all customer expectations as scheduled, 
• Tenaciously follow-up with open leads 
• Nurture all possible referral business 
• Conduct community events and open houses – minimum requirement each week TBD 
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications 

• Successful experience selling in a premium home improvement market representing high-end, premium products sold across the kitchen table (HVAC, Windows, other) 
• Closing expertise in high-tickets deals against low-price competitors 
• Confidence in overcoming multiple customer objections including stalls 
• Experience selling products in markets/industries offering multiple financing options 
• Ability to work well with inside support staff including the Sales Coordinator 
• Ability to generate referrals from positive customer experiences and contact database 
• Ability to work hours that are convenient for home owners (i.e. nights/weekends) 
• Must work well independently and possess self-starter mentality 
• Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize 
• Ability to thrive in a high intensity, dynamic work environment 
• Must have an entrepreneurial mindset 
• Strong computer skills including experience updating leads in CRM system (e.g. Salesforce.com) 
• A strong desire to be a part of a rapidly growing business with an opportunity to progress 
• Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communications skills
