The above position is a fixed term contract terminating 31 March 2018, renewable on mutual agreement and performance. D3 Paterson Salary Scale: R39 121.34 per month (total cost to company all-inclusive package)

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in production management and/or project management/ or 5 years management of furniture production lines
  • Proven track record on project and production management
  • Working knowledge of relevant conservation legislation
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
  • Working knowledge and experience of the Occupational Health Safety and Safety Act and COIDA.
  • Human resources management experience
  • Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Good written and verbal communication, negotiation, conflict resolution skills
  • Requirement to work long and irregular hours and to travel
  • Sound organizational, administrative and negotiation skills
  • A valid driver’s license

Responsibilities:

The main responsibilities for this position entail:

  • Oversee the Implementation of the Eco-Furniture Programme implemented by BSP
  • Ensure sound financial management according to funder requirements
  • Ensure compliance to Programme standards / norms and Health & Safety requirements
  • Ensure strategic planning for factories
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders for mutual benefit
  • Manage implementation and administration of policies and budget according to operational plans and relevant legislation
  • Implementing effective human resources management
  • Responsible for stock control
  • Mentoring of operations managers
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications and process flows
  • Develop and implement management control systems to make financial planning and cost analysis more efficient
  • Enact quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs
  • Design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning to ensure that products meet quality standards
