IEA/EDC Energy Data Officer: innovation Temporary opening
The International Energy Agency (IEA) is an intergovernmental organisation committed to advancing security of energy supply, economic growth and environmental sustainability through energy policy co-operation. The IEA operates as an autonomous body within the framework of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Both the OECD and the IEA seek opportunities to work with an increasing number of non-members of growing importance to the world economy. The IEA seeks an energy data officer to assist in the collection, compilation, verification, research and dissemination of energy innovation statistics for member and non-member countries, with focus but not limited to energy technology research and development budgets. The chosen candidate will contribute to the broader IEA innovation policy work, and work in a team performing various energy data related activities that underpin the Agency's work on global energy challenges. These activities include, but are not limited to, energy security (including the IEA Emergency Data System), energy markets, energy efficiency, CO2 emissions, renewable energies, energy prices, etc. The selected candidate will report to a Head of Section in the Energy Data Centre under the general supervision of the Head of Division, working with a team of enthusiastic professionals in a collegial, dynamic and busy environment. He/she will have an opportunity to develop their knowledge of energy innovation statistics and their broader understanding of energy innovation, through interactions with a wide selection of statisticians and international experts across the Agency.
