September is an ideal time for trees as not only are they still in leaf but also have their fruits to aid identification. On this fascinating course participants will visit a number of sites in the Forest identifying many local tree species. It will be of particular interest to those who have a limited knowledge and would like to know how to recognise common and less common trees, but will also be suitable for those who have some knowledge of trees and would like to learn more.
This course runs from 09.30 to 16.30, includes lunch at a local public house and a free FSC guide Tree Name Trail. Participants are encouraged to bring any other tree identification books they have.
Participants are reminded to bring suitable clothing for the weather on the day of the course. As transport is required to field sites carpooling will be arranged on the day.
