A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Hydrogeologist to join one of the most reputable and respected Engineering consultancies in the world.


The role:

To provide technical support to the Ground Engineering Team of this multidisciplinary consultancy and more widely to the Infrastructure and Environmental Consulting businesses in the field of hydrogeology (including ground energy systems) in Europe.
Also to provide specialist input to multidisciplinary projects or hydrogeological projects and to contribute to proposals and business development activities.


Responsibilities:


To provide site-specific advice on projects involving contaminated land and landfills, water resources and development, building and linear projects (road and rail).
To produce specifications and interpretive reports for investigations, pumping tests, laboratory and other analyses relating to groundwater and soil-water interaction.
To carry out hydrogeological modelling using industry-standard 3D programs such as MODFLOW. To assist in the development of the numerical analysis capability in groundwater flow modelling.
To contribute to all aspects of project delivery from brief development to final presentation/reporting.
Be involved in client liaison.

Input will include analysis and report writing, assisting with technical and financial proposals, QA and H&S aspects, preparation of technical papers, continuing professional development.

The post holder will be based in Solihull, and will participate in projects largely throughout the UK and Europe region. Some work outside the region may also be required.
The successful candidate must enjoy being part of a team in order to develop technical solutions, as well as being able to work on own initiative. Must have good attention to detail and be self-motivated. Must be versatile in outlook and capability, as an applied geologist, and be able to contribute to solving geotechnical design and construction dewatering problems as well as working in traditional hydrogeology. These include road and rail, contaminated land, regeneration, water and all types of built development in the UK and abroad. Workload is for a variety of internal and external clients usually within a multidisciplinary framework.
