This project is concerned with the conservation of marine mammals, mainly humpback whales. It carries out various types of research (i.e. photo ID, song analysis, etc) and is one of the leading authorities regarding whale watching procedures.
Volunteers get involved in daily whale-watching / scientific boat surveys, data management, activities in local schools, etc. Volunteers should be physically fit and not suffer from sea sickness.
The project costs £450 for 1 month which includes accommodation, food and various extras (rain coat, t-shirts, etc). The price decreases after one month’s service.
