ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 

The Human Resources Specialist provides hands on human resources support and services in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, performance management, benefits, payroll, staff development/training, HR metrics, organizational development, and records management.  The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for administering and maintaining HR systems, programs, procedures and plans according to HR policies and will provide timely and quality assistance to all levels of staff on various HR-related issues.  S/he will respond timely to moderately complex employee/management questions and problems based on advanced knowledge of aspects applicable to the subject area.  The Human Resources Specialist will manage and administer the payroll, benefits, records retention, health and safety plans and employment-related paperwork for TNC Australia.  May provide human resources support as needed with Pacific Island Programs. S/he will work collaboratively with the Senior Human Resources Manager for Asia Pacific and with Human Resources and Operations staff throughout the organization.  Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.
 

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 years HR related work experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience coordinating projects.
  • Experience responding to HR related questions and problems from employees/management.
  • Experience in database management and spreadsheet software; constructing and producing reports; data input, manipulation and analysis.
  • Experience working with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Occupational Health and Safety experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solid knowledge of word processing, database management, and spreadsheet software, with ability to construct and produce reports, data input, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Advanced understanding of fundamental HR concepts, processes, and services.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
