WRI seeks a dynamic HR professional who is motivated by process improvement and idea initiation and implementation.  The Human Resources Generalist will be part of a three person HR team and share in an internationally robust HR Vision.  The primary responsibility of this position is administering all aspects of the employee benefits program, conducting benefits analysis, and maintaining HR database; preparing and tracking personnel actions; and serving as an HR Generalist in addressing other personnel needs.  We are a growing organization with many opportunities to implement HR related initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

Benefits Administration

 

  • Administer the benefits program, conduct benefits orientation, answers questions on benefits issues, and develop the annual benefits and salary spreadsheet.
  • Participate in surveys and ensure that the Institute has a comprehensive and competitive benefits package
  • Enroll new staff in all benefits plans in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Set up and monitor employee files and maintain an accurate tracking system to ensure that all enrollments and terminations are processed accurately
  • Verify the calculation of the monthly premiums, HSA transmittals, claims, billing and all related benefits costs.
  • Serve as primary contact for all benefits plan carriers and third party administrators
  • Review, evaluate, analyze, and make recommendations based on surveys and other green group and/or think tank information
  • Develops cost of benefits information and makes recommendations as to equitable and competitive cost sharing between Institute and WRI employee
  • Prepares and maintains budget spreadsheet on all staff salaries and benefits
  • Develop and set up processes to ensure that new hire and termination paperwork is completed in timely and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for reviewing monthly benefit accounts to ensure accurate billing.

 

HR Generalist role

  • Functions as an integral part of three person HR operation for the Institute
  • Serves as a Human Resource Generalist and processes all personnel actions to include: personnel action forms (PAFs) for staff changes; upward reviews, performance review process, annual salary increases, etc.
  • Maintain HR budget documentation and reconciliation
  • Maintains personnel files and HR database; generate reports from database when necessary.
  • Work in developing the HR Intranet site; responsible for the data input and layout of site.
  • Assist with the administration of staff performance review process, including the preparation of  salary spreadsheets
  • Assists with recruitment as needed and with internal and external postings of vacancy announcements.
  • Performs other human resource / administration tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of experience in administering benefits programs
  • Additional HR experience a plus, however the 3 yrs benefits exp is required
  • Strong computer skills (especially excel spreadsheets, MS Word, Powerpoint);
  • Accuracy with detail and numbers;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Able to juggle lots of tasks, set priorities, and work independently;
  • Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information;
  • Customer service orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
  • International benefits experience a plus
  • Experience w/ADP also a plus
  • Experience w/HRIS implementation also a plus
  • Bachelors Degree or HR Certification required

 

Salary:   Hiring range - $45K - $53K Commensurate with experience, excellent benefits package.
