As HSE Manager, you will join the integrated management team on a civil/structural project of strategic importance to both our client and its business partner. Responsibilities include:
- Influencing and supporting the project team in pursuit of excellent HSE performance
- Assisting in the development and deployment of leading performance indicators
- Coaching and supporting the principal contractor from within the client’s management team
- Assisting in the development of strategic action plans that support continual improvement 
The essential experience is:
- An appropriate membership of a recognised occupational safety and health institute
- Experience as an HSE Manager within the construction industry
· Extensive knowledge of CDM and an ability to perform within the role of client and principal contractor
- Proven ability to work within, lead and influence client, design and contractor teams
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
Desirable attributes:
- Knowledge of behavioural safety programmes
- Knowledge of OHSAS18001
- The candidate should understand the HSE implications of the following aspects of the Project:· Demolition of existing buildings - Asbestos abatement works - Reconfiguration of existing utilities - Design and construction of the CAS, including the building super-structure and sub-structure, facility support utilities and external infrastructure. 
The individual will hold a current security clearance for working on defence related projects or a willingness to complete a security vetting process.
The job is for approximately 18 months and is located in Barrow in Furness.
