Southern Solar Ltd is an expanding Solar Energy installation company. We provide a high quality professional service with an emphasis on customer satisfaction. Our main work is the installation of solar thermal and solar PV systems for domestic, public sector and commercial clients.

Due to increased growth we are looking for a capable and well organised salesperson to join our team at the Hereford Branch.  You will generate and manage leads, carry out surveys, close sales and provide a high level of customer care.

Job Description

  • Manage and develop domestic leads, meet with clients and generate sales
  • Conduct domestic surveys gathering all relevant information to produce a system design and quote
  • Access architect plans and liaise with technical team gathering all relevant information to produce a system design and quote
  • Issue quotes based on your system designs
  • Follow up on quotes generated and close sales to meet sales target
  • Achieve sales targets set by branch manager
  • Ensure sales are in line with company Mission Statement
  • Identify and develop marketing opportunities
  • Actively look for ways to assist colleagues
  • Maintain good working relationships with co-workers, suppliers or all other stakeholders
  • Consider ways in which you can make your manager’s job easier and your manager can help you
  • Look to minimize waste and excess expense in all areas of your work

The successful candidate will ideally have skills, experience and qualifications in the following areas:
EXPERIENCE
Essential

  • A proven track record in delivering sales to target
  • Experience of sales in peoples’ homes or carrying out domestic surveys (e.g. as a building surveyor)
  • Experience of delivering a high level of customer care
  • Basic knowledge of solar thermal and PV system design


Desirable

  • Technical sales experience
  • Experience of commercial sales, with a focus on the building industry
  • Experience of installing PV or solar thermal systems
  • Knowledge or experience of roofing or building services


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent IT skills (including Outlook and Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Desirable
  • Recognised construction industry qualification or other relevant qualification
  • Sales training

  • Enthusiasm for renewable energies
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Able to work a range of hours with occasional overnight stays

  • Starting salary of £24-28k neg. depending on experience (for a 45 hour week inc. breaks).
