We are seeking an experienced technician to provide desktop support to TCF headquarters and remote locations.  Will assist with installations, configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and business-related software.  Works to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.  Ensures desktop computers/laptops interconnect seamlessly with validated systems, file and application servers.  Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for end users; recommends/implements corrective hardware and/or software solutions including off-site repair as needed.  Monitor and test PC performance and provide related statistics and reports; construct, install and test customized configurations, maintain inventory of all computer equipment and software and receive/respond to incoming calls/e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.

The qualified candidate will have an associate’s degree or a minimum of 2 years experience in a related field.  A+ Certification desired but not required.  Must have excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware, specifically Dell desktop and laptop computers.  Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience, extensive equipment support with printers, scanners and other similar devices and working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems and standards required.  Basic understanding of Windows server (2003/2008) networking environment and the ability to read/understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides a must.  Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products a must.  Must have effective interpersonal and team building skills, strong written oral and written communication and be self motivated.  A strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving abilities needed.  The ability to prioritize, work in a team environment and provide strong customer service a must.  This position requires sitting for extended periods of time, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools and handle other computer components.  Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects is essential.  Other duties as assigned.
