Meridian trades derivatives with other parties for a number of reasons via a number of mechanisms.  The Markets and Production Team, and in particular the Wholesale Markets Team, are responsible for executing these trades to maximise Meridian's portfolio value.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a decisive, switched on individual with the analytical nous to negotiate directly with counterparties, mitigate risks as they become apparent, and co-ordinate responses to risks and opportunities.  A large component of this role involves market analysis, providing back up for futures trading on the ASX and supporting the Wholesale Markets team.  As your experience grows, so does your involvement in the trading environment.

A role of this calibre would suit an intelligent, quick thinker who can stay calm under pressure and communicate in a professional manner. A high degree of numeracy skills, proven analytical capability coupled with the drive to succeed is vital for this role. It would be great if you had experience in financial or electricity markets, however your attitude and willingness to learn and be part of a great team is more important to us.

So, if you want to help Meridian create a better energy future, we'd love to hear from you.
