We are looking for a proactive, self motivated person with a good knowledge of forest issues to support the delivery of the global forest targets and milestones for WWF’s Heart of Borneo Global Initiative (HOB GI).

WWF believes in a future where people and nature thrive. Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’re also committed to safeguarding the natural world through tackling the global threat of climate change. And by helping people to change the way they live, to ease pressure on natural resources.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us and be a key contact in supporting the delivery of the global forest targets and milestones for WWF’s Heart of Borneo Global Initiative (HOB GI) by taking responsibility for programme management, including the development and implementation of grant agreements with relevant WWF partners.

You’ll need to make sure that proposals, workplans, budgets, logframes and M&E plans are aligned with HOB GI and WWF-UK strategies and you’ll need to have the ability to assess field capacity for the implementation of agreed projects and programmes to ensure contract compliance.

You’ll have experience of working with global partners as you’ll need to liase with other teams in WWF-UK, HOB GI staff and field staff in WWF-Indonesia and WWF-Malaysia, as well as WWF partners in Brunei. To do this you’ll have first class communication, writing and presentation skills and a strong understanding of how to get the best out of working partnerships.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of forest issues, project design and monitoring, livelihood approaches and biodiversity conservation. You’ll need to be proactive and self motivated and have a good understanding of the HOB GI so you can come into a project already in progress.
