BTCV is the UK’s leading practical conservation charity working with people from all sectors of the community in positive action to improve the environment.

This post funded for one year, in the first instance, will involve the management and delivery of the York Green Gym Project. Funded by the Peoples Health Trust the project aims to provide volunteering opportunities in practical environmental and food growing activities for adults volunteers in the York area to improve their physical and mental health. You will recruit, induct and support individuals into the York Green Gym programme, this may include people who are inactive, feel isolated, or have mental health problems.

Applicants should have a relevant qualification, good people and practical skills together with having experience of undertaking practical environmental projects involving volunteers. They will also have good organisational and communication skills, be able to coordinate, lead, motivate and support volunteers.

A willingness to work some weekends is essential if this project is to expand.

A full driving licence is required as the post holder has the shared use of a company minibus.
