Head of Special Business Delivery Global Action Plan

Global Action Plan is a dynamic environmental charity working with a range of businesses to help them reduce their carbon impact and become more sustainable. Our approach is to work closely with each organisation providing specialist advice and the practical know-how and support they need to make changes.

The European Regional Development Fund is part-funding a project to support small-medium size businesses across London from 2009-2011. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Sustainable Business Manager to head up our special business delivery team.

Salary Circa £36k

As the Head of our SBD team you will work with and manage a team of sustainable business advisors. You will be working with a number of small-medium size businesses across London providing expert advice on how they can reduce their carbon emissions and environmental impact. Advice will cover areas such as carbon footprinting and energy management as well as waste, procurement, travel and possibly supply chain management.

You will have experience of environmental/energy auditing and a practical knowledge of how to implement change that results in reduced emissions and improved sustainability. Ideally you will have experience implementing or training in Environmental Management Systems. A background in engineering/ energy management would also be desirable.

You will possess good commercial and business acumen as well as the ability to manage projects to budget and on time.

You should be an enthusiastic self-starter, with excellent management and communication skills as well as a commitment to Global Action Plan's values. The post is based in our London office.
