Position Overview:
My client is a world leading module manufacturer of thin film silicon solar modules and are looking to appoint a Head of China Sales. Reporting to the China President - Global Head of Sales and Marketing Switzerland
Job Description:
- · Drives the sales processes, from inception to closing.
- · Manages business to achieve financial and operational objectives while continuing to develop and grow the business.
- · Proposes and executes policies and programs to achieve maximum sales volume potential for products and technology/or services; design and apply sales strategy and plans and set short and long term sales goals.
- · Continue to build and gain market share across China. In this position the individual will also be responsible for Marketing China.
- · Able to network with the various Government Agencies and Heads of specific Business Entities; this includes influential participation and representation in Solar and Energy specific networks, societies and circles in China.
- · Able to negotiate to close orders within guidelines set by headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- · Manage sales to achieve financial and operational objectives while continuing to develop and grow business in China
- · Propose and execute policies and programs to achieve maximum sales volume potential for products and technology/or services
- · Design and apply sales goals and plans and set short and long term Sales goals
- · Establish relationships to understand the political changes which influence the future alignment of the energy sector in China and related sales opportunities
- · Leverage business to business opportunities within existing domestic / global accounts
Core Competencies:
- · Deep understanding of new solar technologies, renewable energy, electric power industry, as well as competitor and related technologies
- · Process focus through continuous improvement of the business sales processes and organizational structures
- · Business acumen, able to act upon financial and business information to meet company goals
- · Clear customer focus, flexibility and stress resistance, able to operate effectively in a very dynamic environment, integrative leadership approach, transparent
communication style, fast and structured work style
Education:
- · Technical and business back ground with Business or Technical Degree, MBA preferred
Core Requirements:
- · 5+ years experience in Capital Equipment in electric power industry or Energy Sector Sales organization of international scope
- · Leadership experience in Sales & Marketing organization (5+ years) driving performance and execution, managing organizational change
- · Networking with governmental institutions, state owned energy companies
- · Experience in capital intensive industry, electric power industry, semiconductor and or Flat Panel manufacturing a plus
- · Chinese and English
- · Travel willingness 60-80%
Advantageous:
- · Technical knowledge about solar energy or even specifically about thin film
