My client is a global wind turbine manufacturer and developer. They are a dominate force in wind project development and are looking to become a dominant force in the supply of on and offshore wind turbine and are renowned for their unmatched  quality.  


Position Overview:
My client is
looking to recruit a Head of Sales for Latin America  to oversee their wind turbine sales operations. This position will require managing a team and working closely with the senior sales managers in regions across Latin America  . The Head of Sales will be reporting directly to the director of sales and will be key part of their continued growth in the Latin American  market.

Responsibilities:-

  • ·         Develop and implement strategic sales plans, forecasts and performance goals to achieve corporate objectives for the Latin American  markets
  • ·         Develop and manage sales operating budgets
  • ·         Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
  • ·         Demonstrate ability to lead Sales team towards results
  • ·         Oversee monthly sales forecasts and sales strategies for the Latin American region
  • ·         Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness
  • ·         Responsibility for sales activities and strategy developments throughout
  • ·         You will oversee that negotiations of terms and conditions with developers across Latin America  
  • ·         You will oversee the bid processes for a large number of projects overseeing the entire negotiations and contract process that your senior sales managers are involved in
  • ·         Ensure all deals meet revenue and margin expectations and that your team is performing within the framework of the company
  • ·         You will ensure that your team is developing and managing a pipeline across Latin America  that supports the company’s growth strategy
  • ·         You will oversee the negotiations of long and complex bids and contract negotiations  that can span a 2+ years period of negotiations
  • ·         Your teams will be in charge of the final stage bid process
  • ·         You will ensure that the senior sales managers are achieving their targets of securing multi million Euro(€) contracts
  • ·         You will focus on multiple projects with the ability to manage individuals who are working independently and do not require micro-management

Education:-

Must have and exceptional educational background.

Core Requirements:-

  • You will have at least 5 years sales experience, with a proven track record in the energy, renewable energy, and/or power generation  sectors
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years sales and busines development expereince in the wind industry
  • ·         You must have a proven ability and temperament to work on long term contracts
  • ·         You must have a desire to work on long term projects
  • ·         An excellent understanding of regulatory requirements in the wind industry in Latin America  
  • ·         Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
  • ·         Proven ability to communicate across all levels of an organization and work closely with VP level managers in a large international company
  • ·         Ability to manage multiple large scale projects
  • ·         A background in wind project development is a plus

General Requirements:-

  • Ability to travel
  • ·         Proficient with making impactful presentations and managing a team of high level employees
  • ·         Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policies

Key Skills:-

Energy, renewable energy, and/or power generation experience , impressive negotiations experience and track record, business development, sales of wind turbines or large wind projects , exceptional team leadership skills, experience with complex contact negotiations and complex stakeholder and customer management experience.
