Head of Pacific Net

Great opportunity to join Greenpeace and forge alliances for change across the Pacific. Term to December 2014 with the potential to become permanent.

From the anti-nuclear weapons testing campaigns of the 1980s to the overfishing campaigns of today, Greenpeace has a proud history of campaigning for a peaceful and sustainable Pacific.

We are now seeking a resourceful and dynamic self-starter to help steer and shape the next phase of Greenpeace’s operations in the Pacific by filling the key new position as our Head of Pacific Net.

We need someone who can work with our supporters and allies in the Western Central Pacific, harness the power of digital and offline campaigning, and proactively seek opportunities for pursuing campaign objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring clear and consistent public communications that both aligned to Greenpeace priorities and values and to local priorities and concerns.  He or she will be expected to foster a wide range of relationships, organise activities and events, and build networks and alliances.

We need someone who is entrepreneurial, committed to Greenpeace values, has an excellent understanding of regional culture and issues, and is capable of carefully prioritising their work.

This is a key leadership position within Greenpeace Australia Pacific. It is a full-time term position to mid-Dec 2014 with the potential to become permanent.  The successful applicant can choose whether to be based in Fiji or another Pacific Island nation.  The role is expected to involve extensive travel.

Applications close 31 July and must address the selection criteria in the job description.
