Head of Marketing (London, UK)IntroductionThe Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is a global not for profit organisation, established in 1997 to address the problem of unsustainable fishing and to ensure healthy oceans for the future. Through our world-leading certification and eco-labelling programme, we are helping to create a more sustainable seafood market. We work with a diverse range of stakeholders – including consumers, retailers, food processors, the fishing industry and governments. Having experienced remarkable growth over the last fifteen years, our blue ecolabel is now one of the most well recognised and successful ecolabels in use over five continents. We now employ more than 130 staff across 15 offices around the world. Successful communications and marketing is vital to driving awareness and use of the MSC ecolabel. As a result, we’re expanding our global communications team to respond to growing demand. Information on the roleWe are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Marketing to lead and set the strategic direction for the MSC’s marketing activities and to promote and enhance the organisation’s brand and consumer engagement. Reporting to the Global Communications Director, you will supervise the Marketing Manager and be responsible for global strategies and activities which promote the MSC and its benefits directly to target audiences, as well as leveraging marketing relationships with our commercial, fishery, NGO and other partners. To be successful in the role, you will have extensive experience in developing and delivering high-quality, innovative marketing across multiple channels and leading research efforts to build the MSC’s market intelligence. Alongside the strategic elements of the role, you will be hands-on in day-to-day operational activities and will therefore need relevant technical skills and abilities. This exciting and challenging role provides a great opportunity for the right individual to shape and influence the MSC’s commercial and consumer strategy in line with the broader strategic goals of the MSC.
